Spring has sprung, summer is just around the bend, and WCBN has a new programming schedule. You’ll find many of your favorite DJs in the same places they were last semester, and in some cases, the same places they have been for many years. You’ll also find some new programming and people making their debuts. For example:

  • Your Ass Will Follow aka Move Your Ass aka Work It, etc.- a half-hour exercise show taking the place of sports until September. It airs Monday through Thursday and will be hosted by many of our talented staff members. They will bring you aerobics tapes, Jack LaLane routines, Jane Fonda records and so much more.
  • The 6 o’clock Shadow- a one-hour program on Friday from 6pm to 7pm in which we encourage would-be WCBN DJs to come down, pick a few records, and see how DJing works. Who knows, we may invite you to train and become a regular DJ! This program has a few guidelines, so for more details please email 6oclockshadow@wcbn.org.
  • Summer School Radio- a two-hour program with a similar goal to 6 o’clock Shadow (attracting more cool people to our radio station) but a different approach. On Wednesdays from 11am to 1pm, Reverend Dr Andrew will train and assist small groups of Ann Arbor high school students in the art of freeform radio production. For more information and to get involved please email summerschool@wcbn.org.

WCBN also welcomes back Pascal, Morgan, Barnaby and Lillian, who are once again hosting freeform shows for the summer. Jazz ’til Noon will be hosted on Thursdays by Rob and on Fridays by Lady K, and Punnu and Rob join the rotation for Sounds of the Subcontinent. Finally, the Friday Night Fish Fry with Sashay Delmonico and introducing Jukebox Benny returns for hot, humid summer dancing.

See you on the air! Our online schedule may be updated soon to reflect summer changes.
